Nile Creek hike

This was a slippery, sloppy mess of a hike. It’s one of my favourite hikes in the area though. If you ever had any doubt we lived in a rainforest, this hike will set you straight. It’s unbelievably green and beautiful along the creek trail.

There are tree trunk bridges and cedar planks to keep your feet mud-free. Nevertheless, I was knee deep in mud more than once. Frankie did a bit of slip-and-sliding herself; giving me a few heart attacks, as she rocket-launched herself over various forest obstacles.

We came across two waterfalls, then turned around to head back. There are more waterfalls the further you go. I’m going to try again later in the summer and stop to go swimming too. Maybe it will be a bit drier.

I was disappointed reviewing my photos – they’re all so blurry. Shaky hands? Too dark? No one to blame but the photographer.

Saw some mushrooms, salmonberries and flowers.
