Grape Hyacinth

Grape Hyacinth
Muscari armeniacum
Asparagus Family

Grape Hyacinth are ornamental bulbous plants native to the Mediterranean region. They produce spikes of fragrant, dense, white-tipped, deep violet-blue flowers. This perennial blooms in early spring and resembles bunches of grapes.

Grape hyacinths spread very quickly and can be quite invasive. If planting them in your graden be sure to plant them where you don’t mind them spreading freely.

I found these beauties along the waterfront path in Nanaimo.
