Costmary
Costmary / Bible leaf
Tanacetum balsamita
Aster family
Costmary is a perennial herb native to the Mediterranean. Its bright yellow flowers look like buttons.
Its aromatic leaves are edible and taste slightly minty and lemony. You can add the leaves to fresh salads, soups or used dried as a flavouring, as a tea or in potpourri.
Costmary leaves were used as a page marker in bibles, hence its nickname ‘bible leaf’.
